Section 1: Introduction & Executive Summary 1 Lynx Technologies is pleased to have this opportunity to present our proposal to the City of Redwood City to build utility network infrastructure GIS data. It is our intention that through the course of this response, we clearly demonstrate a thorough understanding of your needs, an eagerness and commitment to work for the City, and a superior approach and level of expertise in accomplishing all of the specified tasks. We hope that you select our firm and look forward to discussing your project in detail. The City of Redwood City will select a firm to help build the street lighting utility system of the entire City. The project will create several themes, which must be topologically structured and linked with associated attributes. We are proposing to fit all of the data to the City's new parcel base map that has, in turn, been adjusted to new high precision digital orthophotography. The data layers to be constructed include mapped lumens, conduit, and associated annotation features for the street lighting system. Each of the spatial features will have linked attribute tables with several data elements populated for each record. The target GIS environment is Environmental System Research Institute's (ESRI) ArcView software. Deliverable products will include ESRI's .shp and eOO. and Autodesk's .dwg and .dxfformats. Lynx Technologies has an extensive history in San Mateo County working for many years building landbase, infrastructure, and emergency services mapping systems. Indeed, we have worked in or for every city in the county. Moreover, over the past several years Lynx Technologies has completed a compilation of the existing City and County data in and surrounding the town of Redwood City on behalf of the San Mateo County's mapping effort. This has culminated in a seamless, basemap of the entire county. Our local experience will prove an asset to the project. Moreover, we are within 45 llÙnutes drive to the City, which will be very beneficial throughout the coarse of the project and beyond, when help and ad hoc meetings are required. Lynx Technologies also has extensive experience constructing very precise utility network systems. The list below reflects the same scope of work requested in this Request for Proposal (RFP). However it does not reflect the different conversion techniques, methodologies, accuracy requirements or other challenges we faced. Indeed, it's almost collÙcal that what sounds or seems should be so routine, we soon learn has unique situations. And therefore, we feel that we offer an exceptional depth of experience that we can offer the City that will contribute towards the success of your project!
