The
company was founded in 1991 and specializes in the design, construction, and implementation of data for
geographic information systems (GIS). The company currently maintains a staff 15 highly trained people
including 3 full-time GIS analysts. Our analysts have technical backgrounds in the design and construction of
GIS on the most common platforms: Arclnfo, GeoMedia Pro, and AutoCAD Map. We also have GIS
programming experience in ESRI's AML, Avenue, and MapObjects (VB) languages, Autodesk's VisualLisp,
and now all three vendor's VB/VBA environment. Our 10 other workstations are staffed with mapping
professionals that have extensive experience with AutoCAD, ArcView, MapInfo, AtlasGIS, and Intergraph's
Microstation products. Together we represent over 40 years of mapping and GIS expertise. Our equipment
includes 15 Pentium 400-1300 MHz PCs, I web-server and 2 dedicated data servers, 5 digitizers and 2
scanners, Trimble GPS equipment with pre- and post-processing software, and several printing devices of
varied sizes including 2 business-class color laser printers.
As we enter our thirteenth year, Lynx Technologies continues its solid reputation for the quality of
workmanship. Specifically, we have worked
in 25 counties in California contributing towards the development of highly accurate landbase data. We use a
variety of mapping techniques including coordinate geometry (COGO), global positioning system (GPS)
mapping, traditional tablet and 'heads-up' digitizing, and scanning with semi-automatic line-following
software.
We also have specific expertise in developing public utility infrastructure for facilities management and
modeling applications. Our services have included database design and application development. We have
also had the opportunity to work with many engineering firms and infrastructure modeling software. These
include Haested Methods' Cybernet Water Modeling software, Montgomery-Watson's ArcView-based
SWMMs software, and others.
Lynx Technologies is also the leading firm in the development of GIS-based mapping and applications for
the emergency services industries. We have developed nearly 150 mapping systems including large projects
for the City of San Jose (Police and Fire), and San Mateo County Fire Departments. Our emergency services
division includes application development and training professionals. The division is responsible for the
development of MapLynx for AutoCAD and MapLynx for ArcView, two products designed to link spatial
data with fire incident, hazardous materials, and building occupancy databases. The software is targeted for
fire prevention staff, incident commanders, and managers to analyze and map their data.
Lynx Technologies also recently became a registered ESRI business partner and, working with ESRI, we are
developing a Web-based mapping application for the fire service. We have also recently developed two
custom ArcView-based public noticing and zoning applications for two cities on the San Francisco peninsula.
Lynx Technologies City of Redwood City Street Lighting GIS Project
