7.1.B. - Page 6 <br /> Tapestry Church. The Tapestry Church will have their 23r Bethlehem A.D. reenactment this <br /> December. Bethlehem A.D. is a living re- creation of the village of Bethlehem on the night of the <br /> first Christmas. The public can walk through the village, interacting with colorfully costumed <br /> townspeople who are cooking over fires, creating pottery, buying and selling items in the market <br /> place, and giving account of themselves to the census taker. The funds will support operational <br /> expenses for the event. <br /> Funding Requested: $5,000 Funding Recommended: $1,000. <br /> The Northern California Bluegrass Society. This group is planning to hold their multi -day <br /> Bluegrass Festival in downtown in January 2016. It will feature music performances and a film <br /> festival featuring bluegrass music documentaries. This grant request is to help with production <br /> costs for the festival. <br /> Funding Requested: $3,000 Funding Recommended: $1,500. <br /> The Pacific Art League of Palo Alto. This group is funding a program offering free mobile digital <br /> art classes at the community center of the Redwood City Police Activities League. The Pacific Art <br /> League will teach twice - weekly courses to children grades 6 through 12. The program aims to <br /> engage with approximately 120 students per year through eight mobile digital art courses <br /> consisting of ten 1.5 -hour sessions each. Students will be able to share their art via social media as <br /> well as exhibiting their work at a Family Art Night. The funding received will help support this <br /> program. <br /> Funding Requested: $3,250 Funding Recommended: $2,500. <br /> Page 3 <br />
