Proclamation Celebrating National Public Works Week, May 19 through 25, 1996; (207) <br /> Mayor Hartnett read the celebratory proclamation and presented it to City Arborist <br /> ---- Gordon Mann and Senior Engineer Jon Lynch. <br /> Senior Engineer Lynch thanked the Council and described the national public works week <br /> program and some ofthe City's current projects. <br /> C. Proclamation Observing May 12-18, 1996, Historic Preservation Week in Redwood City; <br /> (207) <br /> Mayor Hartnett read the celebratory proclamation and presented it to Ken Rolandelli, <br /> Chairman of the City's Historic Resources Advisory Committee, who thanked the Council <br /> for its support of historic preservation in Redwood City and announced the following <br /> celebration activities: May 15, the History of San Mateo County Courts, Court Room A; <br /> May 18, 10:30 a.m. and a walking tour beginning at Lathrop House; May 18, noon, <br /> Redwood City Fire Department history, 835 Main Street; and May 18, twilight ceremony at <br /> historic Union Cemetery with a history of the United States flag. <br /> ------______n______----------------------------------------------------______n_n______nnn______--------------------- <br /> 2. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS <br /> A. Diana Spatero, 437 King Street and 817 Main Street, expressed her concern regarding the <br /> , possibility of the building located at 817 Main Street being tom down in advance of a new <br /> '--' development on the corner of Main and Broadway. <br /> Councilman Leipzig responded that the Mezes Corporation was in the process of <br /> developing a project for that site and the Council would fully study the matter at the <br /> appropriate time. <br /> B. Council agreed to consider Item 6.A. out of order at this time to allow a speaker from the <br /> audience to address this item which was recommended for continuance to July 29, 1996. <br /> (603) <br /> APPEAL OF DECISION OF THE ZONING ADMINISTRATOR TO DENY FOUR <br /> VARIANCES REGARDING A PROPOSED HOME AT 3738 LAUREL WAY. (BRAD <br /> WHITAKER, APPLICANT AND APPELLANT) <br /> Larry Purcell, 3733 Laurel Way, advised he would be out of town on the date of the <br /> rescheduled public hearing, July 29, 1996 and asked Council to reschedule the public <br /> hearing to a date and time when he would be able to attend.
