St. Francis Center <br /> Decline to fund as the location is in the County and Agency funds cannot be used <br /> outside the city limits. <br /> Mayor Hartnett advised that the Redevelopment Agency budget would be the subject of <br /> a study session on July 29,1996. <br /> In response to Council questions, Director Church advised that Mezes Plaza Project is <br /> close to the 75% threshold of receiving the go ahead, although one more major tenant is <br /> needed to make it financible. Director Church said 32% of the space is leased with the <br /> commitment fÌom U.C. Berkeley extension. He described the negotiations between the <br /> Mezes group and the Redwood City School District which would include the District <br /> acquiring an equity interest in the project and making the project more financible. <br /> Mayor Hartnett called upon members of the audience who wished to speak to the <br /> Redevelopment Agency budget. <br /> Don Saye, 2021 Broadway, Redwood City expressed his support for the StorefÌont <br /> Improvement Program and asked the Council to increase its funding. <br /> Council Members expressed their opinions on the proposed projects and policies in the <br /> 1996/97 Redevelopment Agency budget as presented. <br /> Mayor Hartnett said the Economic Development Strategies needed more study and <br /> consideration at the study session July 29 and reconfirmed his support for the <br /> projects/programs in the Housing Fund as previously approved by Council. Mayor <br /> Hartnett said that many of the projects/programs in the General Fund, were "already fixed <br /> and recurring expenditures."
