Amendment to the San Mateo Cable Television Authority Joint Powers Agreement to <br /> Expand its Powers as the San Mateo County Telecommunications Authority (304). <br /> REPORT: Finance Director Ponty, August 12, 1996 <br /> In response to Councilman Leipzig's questions, Finance Director Ponty advised that the <br /> Council would not yield any of its authority by approval of this amendment. Director <br /> Ponty said the amendment would allow SAMCAT to focus beyond the cable industry to <br /> address emerging telecommunications issues such as wireless and cellular <br /> communications, and to negotiate collectively to make a better deal for the City. In <br /> answer to further questions, Finance Director Ponty said Under the agreement the City <br /> could negotiate separately at any time it felt it was in its best interest to do so. <br /> MIS: LEIPZIGIHOW ARD.
