Amendment to the San Mateo Cable Television Authority Joint Powers Agreement to Expand its Powers as the San Mateo County Telecommunications Authority (304). REPORT: Finance Director Ponty, August 12, 1996 In response to Councilman Leipzig's questions, Finance Director Ponty advised that the Council would not yield any of its authority by approval of this amendment. Director Ponty said the amendment would allow SAMCAT to focus beyond the cable industry to address emerging telecommunications issues such as wireless and cellular communications, and to negotiate collectively to make a better deal for the City. In answer to further questions, Finance Director Ponty said Under the agreement the City could negotiate separately at any time it felt it was in its best interest to do so. MIS: LEIPZIGIHOW ARD.
