Section 4506 0� the Building Code is hereby <br /> amended to read as follows: <br /> "Section 4506, (a) It is unlawful for any person to <br /> construct, erect or maintain any awning or hood over or <br /> upon any sidewalk, street or public right of way unless <br /> said person shall have first obtained a building permit <br /> from the Building Official. <br /> " (b) Mvvable awnings or hoods may have combustible <br /> coverings supported on incombustible frames attached to the <br /> building. <br /> " (c) Fixed awnings or hoods shall be constructed of <br /> incombustible materials and shall be designed to resist <br /> 20 pounds of live-load uniformly distributed over the pro- <br /> jected area. <br /> " (d) Such awning or hood may extend over the public <br /> property not more than two-thirds the distance from the prop- <br /> erty line to the nearest curb in front of the building site. <br /> " (�) The lowest part of any fixed awning or hood or <br /> of any awning or hood frame shall be not less than eight <br /> feet above the ground immediately below,, and the lowest part <br /> of any fringe attached to such awning or hood shall be not <br /> less than seven feet above the grade i.mmediately below." <br /> SECTION 21. The Building Code is hereby amended by adding <br /> thereto following Section 5001 thereof, a new section to be <br /> numbered 5001.1, said section to read as follows: <br /> �Section 5001.1 No building known as a Quonset hut <br /> or of the general ty�e of construction of a Quonset hut <br /> '-14- <br />
