. � <br /> ARTICLE 6 <br /> DIRECTIONAL AND INTERIOR SIGNS <br /> Section 6.1 Signs designed and used solely for the purpose <br /> of indicating the location or direction of a place or area on the <br /> premises upon which located, including signs denoting entrances, <br /> exits, parking areas and similar signs, may be erected without a <br /> sign permit, and in addition to all other signs permitted by this <br /> ordinance, if they comply with all of the following provisions: <br /> (a) Directional signs shall not exceed four square feet <br /> in area. <br /> (b) No more than eight directional signs shall be permitted <br /> on any parcel of real property. <br /> Section 6.2 Interior signs shall be permitted in addition <br /> to all other signs permitted by this ordinance without permit and <br /> without complying with the provisions of Article 4 if they comply <br /> with all the following provisions: <br /> (a) Not more than 50 per cent of the area of any window <br /> shall be obstructed by interior signs. <br /> (b) No interior sign shall be permitted in the zoning <br /> districts mentioned in Section 5.1. <br /> ARTICLE 7 <br /> FREEWAY SIGNS <br /> Section 7 .1 No signs shall be placed or maintained regard- <br /> less of the district or zone in which it is located: <br /> (a) If such sign is designed to have or has advertising <br /> thereon maintained primarily to be viewed from a main <br /> traveled roadway of a freeway; or, <br /> (b? If such sign because of its location, size, nature or <br /> type constitutes or tends to constitute a hazard to <br /> the safe and efficient operation of vehicles upon a <br /> freeway, or creates a condition which endangers the <br /> safety of persons or property thereon; or, <br /> (c) If such sign is located within 500 feet of the outer <br /> limits of a main traveled roadway of a freeway. <br /> -20- <br />
