r . <br /> . � <br /> . �� <br /> (b) Traffic signs, legal notices, railroad warning signs, <br /> signs showing the location of underground pub lic uti- <br /> lity facilities, and other signs of a nonadvertising <br /> nature erected for warning or emergency purposes. <br /> ARTICLE 3 . <br /> GENERAL REGULATIONS <br /> Section 3 .1 No person shall erect, reconstruct, alter, <br /> relocate or place any sign within the City of Redwood City except <br /> such signs as are permitted by this ordinance . All signs, <br /> including the frames, b race s, or supports thereof, shall be <br /> constructed and maintained in compliance with this ordinance, <br /> the Building and Electrical Codes, the Zoning Ordinance, and all <br /> other applicable ordinances of the City of Redwood City. <br /> Section 3 .2 No sign or any portion thereof shall be anchored <br /> to, or attached to, or supported by any fire escape or any stand- <br /> pipe, or erected so as to obstruct or prevent the free ingress <br /> to or egress from any window, door or fire escape . <br /> 5ection 3.3 No sign shall be erected so as to obstruct <br /> the vision of vehicular traffic or at any lo�ation where it may <br /> interfere with, or be confused with, any traff ic signal or device . <br /> Section 3 .4 It shall be unlawful for any person to display <br /> any obscene matter on any sign. <br /> Section 3 .5 All signs, including signs installed prior to <br /> the adoption of this ordinance, shall be constantly maintained in <br /> a state of security, safety and good repair. If the Building <br /> Inspector finds that any sign is unsafe or insecure, or is a menace <br /> to the public safety, or has been constructed, erected, relocated <br /> or altered after the effective date of this ordinance in violation <br /> of the provisions hereof, he shall give written notice to the <br /> owner or the tenant of th�e property wherein it is located, to <br /> -7- <br />
