City will recruit for its program a team of <br />PE Coaches and conduct all hiring processes of staff including background and safety <br />checks. City will retain proper numbers and levels of qualified staff to implement the <br />program. <br />Objective 3 - Staff Training: City will adequately train and prepare all staff coaches <br />employed by City to deliver a PE program that strives to meet California State <br />requirements and reinforces the joy of being active and healthy. PRCS will design, <br />provide, and evaluate a year-round training program consisting of in-person training <br />sessions and planning meetings that improves job-related skill development and <br />competencies of coaches. <br />Objective 4 - PE Curriculum: PRCS will implement and assist in developing a <br />comprehensive, planned, sequential PE Plus curriculum designed to meet the social, <br />emotional, physical, and learning needs of the students are being met during their time <br />in PE. The program will provide students with the knowledge, attitudes, motor skills, <br />behavioral skills, and confidence to participate in physical activity, and aims to establish <br />active lifestyles among students that continue into and throughout their adult lives. <br />Physical activity is promoted by providing a physical and social environment that <br />enables safe and enjoyable participation in physical activity through a planned and <br />developmentally appropriate physical education and nutrition education curricula, and <br />by instruction that meets the PE standards from kindergarten through 5th grade. <br />Objective 5 - Program Evaluation: All partners will work together to develop and <br />implement an evaluation plan that measures quality and impact. Partners will determine <br />the desired outcomes of the program, adequately and continuously evaluate the program <br />using quantitative and qualitative assessment tools such as fitness assessments and <br />surveys, implement appropriate data collection and entry, use the information to improve <br />and modify the program, and ensure that positive changes and outcomes are sustained. <br />6.1.B. - Page 2
