She spoke in
support of letting the process develop between Morrison and Forrester and the State
Lands Commission. She believes Docktown serves the public trust because there is a
yacht club, it supports local sailing, cares for the creek, and their use is consistent with
the public trust and she is in favor of keeping an open mind and not rushing to any
decisions.

Francesca Formbrough said she has lived on a boat before in the past and she spoke in
favor of this way of life and opined that an American should be able to choose where
and how to live. She finds this a very close knit community where there is affordable
housing and people help each other all time. She noted that there are no yards so they
do not have much water use but there is a yacht club and an historic tank. She believes
the water tank is probably one of the first structures in Redwood City, dating back to the
mid 1800s and she wants this promoted and kept as part of this city’s maritime heritage.
She said that it is like Sausalito - a diamond in rough that should be cherished.

James Jonas expressed appreciation for the Town Hall meeting and a desire to have
these more often and he also expressed surprise that Docktown would be coming up on
the agenda. He noted that Morrison and Forrester is representing Redwood City Creek
Association and they are talking to State Lands regarding specific uses. He expressed
his view of the State of California’s position on sea level rise stating that as it rises they
get to take. He asked how will sea level rise affect One Marina and spoke in favor of
working with this law firm because they understand public trust doctrine and they would
like the city to join them in their efforts. He hopes that everybody will work with
Docktown to find a solution for everybody.

Council Member Seybert made remarks about water as a resource and how the City
has been proactive and progressive. He asked people to stay connected and find out
what is going on in the City. Council Member Aguirre thanked everyone for coming out
and asked speakers to leave their contact information so they could be connected to the
right resources.

Mayor Gee mentioned that Redwood City is aware and invested in addressing the
housing issue – which is a regional issue. He added that transportation and housing are
issues the Council is well aware of, and that various Council Members serve on regional
bodies that represent those interests. He spoke specifically about Partnership
Redwood City, 21 Elements Study, and the demise of the Redevelopment Agency.
Mayor Gee invited members of the public to attend upcoming City Council meetings and
the State of the City Address, and he thanked the City Clerk team for arranging logistics
related to this Town Hall meeting.

6.
