ALTERNATIVES
Council may choose to reject the Public Works Mutual Aid Agreement. However this
may result in a less comprehensive and effective effort for county-wide public works aid.

FISCAL IMPACT
The Agreement requires that the “Requesting Party” reimburse the “Assisting Party” for
all of its costs of providing assistance within sixty days. The advantage provided to the
“Requesting Party” by the Agreement is that pre-existing arrangements for the provision
of services are often necessary to promptly obtain reimbursement from state (i.e.,
California Disaster Assistance Act) or federal (i.e., Federal Emergency Management
Agency) funds.
ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
This activity is not a project under CEQA as defined in CEQA Guidelines, section
15378, because it has no potential for resulting in either a direct or foreseeable physical
change in the environment.

TERENCE KYAW
ASSISTANT PUBLIC W ORKS DIRECTOR

RAMANA CHINNAKOTLA
PUBLIC W ORKS DIRECTOR

AARON AKNIN
INTERIM CITY MANAGER

ATTACHMENTS
1.
