REPORTER'S TRANSCRIPT OF PROCEEDINGS TAKEN 5-24-04
1 moderate income families.
\ 2 I think that's part of the balance that you
3 need to weigh.
4 Thanks very much.
5 MAYOR IRA: All right. Thank you.
6 Laura Stuchinsky and then John Aragnostu.
7 MS. STUCHINSKY: Good evening.
8 My name is Laura Stuchinsky and I speak on
9 behalf of the Silicon Valley Manufacturing Group.
10 Our organization is a public policy trade
11 0 r,g an i z at i on that represents about 190 member
12 companies, many whom are in San Mateo County. Our
13 organization strongly supports this project. Given
(
14 our recent significant housing shortage and the
15 limited amount of land available for development,
16 we recognize that the only way developers can begin
17 to build the number of homes that we need, at
18 prices that families can afford, is by going up.
19 And by concentrating more of our development in
20 urbanized areas, we're able to save more of the
21 prime agricultural land and habitats that's outside
22 of our urbanized areas.
23 Housing and affordable housing in
24 particular remains a top concern of CEOs in this
\ 25 area, even witp the down economy.
UCCELLI & ASSOCIATES 105
(650) 952-0774
.-
