<br /> REPORTER'S TRANSCRIPT OF PROCEEDINGS TAKEN 5-24-04 <br />1 Ortega is a captain with the California Army <br />2 National Guard, he assumed command of Company B 223 <br />3 Military Intelligence Battalion as a linguist <br />4 immediately upon arriving in Kuwait and, later, <br />5 operated in the heart of the Suni triangle. <br />6 Captain Ortega implemented, developed and <br />7 supervised supply and maintenance operations and <br />8 endured all of his leaders were trained in all <br />9 facets of tactical mission planning. <br />10 Thank you very much. <br />11 (Applause.) <br />12 MAYOR IRA: Redwood City Police Officer <br />13 Nicholas Perna (phonetic), US Army Reserve, Special <br />14 Operations Command captain. <br />15 Whereas, Redwood City Police Officer <br />16 Nicholas Perna was recalled to active duty service <br />17 as a captain in the United states Army Reserve, he <br />18 was mobilized and deployed in support of combat <br />19 operations in Kuwait and Iraq. <br />20 On December 26, 2002, he was mobilized as a <br />21 member of the us Army Reserve and sent to Fort <br />22 Bragg, North Carolina for predeployment training. <br />23 And in February of 2003 he deployed as a member of <br />24 the psychological operations company to the air <br />25 base in Kuwait. <br /> UCCELLI & ASSOCIATES 6 <br /> (650) 952-0774 <br /> --, , <br />
