REPORTER'S TRANSCRIPT OF PROCEEDINGS TAKEN 5-24-04
Tuscany. The places that - - where the
neighborhoods and the environment and the nature
all seem to be blended together and invite people
to just relax and enjoy their surroundings.
It's the charm of the design in this
integration that I think makes this happen. We
have a chance to have that kind of quality
development here in Redwood City; and so I'm an
endorsement of this. But I also am an endorsement
of this because of several other reasons.
One is we certainly need housing. And the
difficulty that I see is always blending the need
for housing with the environment that we have, and
also the natural environment that we want to
maintain and keep.
Now when you look at the -- at the amount
of space that this is making use 0 f, along with the
natural environment of Bair Island, you have a -- a
lot of natural space still maintained.
The other thing is, is that we need housing
for people who are serving our community, people
who now have to move out into Tracy and Modesto and
commute all the way In. This can't be good for
their families, I don't think it's good for the
services in Redwood City as well.
UCCELLI & ASSOCIATES 66
(650) 952-0774
--
