SPECIAL ORDER(S) OF THE DAY <br /> <br />A. Presentation of Proclamation Recognizing May as National Historic <br /> Preservation Month – Ken Rollandeli, Chair of the Historic Resources Advisory <br /> Committee, and Presenter is Jeffrey Gee, Mayor <br /> <br />Mayor Gee presented the proclamation designating May as National Historic <br />Preservation Month, with Ken Rolandelli from the Historic Resources Advisory <br />Committee present. Mr. Rolandelli spoke about several upcoming events for the historic <br />sites of Redwood City and the importance of this designation. <br /> <br />6. PUBLIC COMMENT <br /> <br />Jimmy Hedges spoke about the liaison training meeting and about Redwood City trying <br />harder to communicate better with the residents. He suggested changing the bi-monthly <br />water bill to monthly bills. He supported a part of the meeting where there was a <br />discussion to take some of the budget to put towards art in public spaces. <br /> <br /> <br />7. <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> <br />Items on the Consent Calendar are considered to be routine and will be enacted by one <br />motion and one vote. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL: Waive reading of the consent calendar and the full text of ordinances <br />and resolutions, and approve the Consent Calendar items. <br /> <br />M/S Seybert/Aguirre to approve the Consent Calendar as presented. The motion <br />carried by unanimous electronic vote. <br /> <br /> 1. Section - Motion(s) <br /> <br />A. <br /> <br />Award of Contract- 2014 Overlay Project for Whipple Avenue (304) <br /> <br /> Recommendation: <br /> By motion, approve the contract documents and award the standard form <br />construction contract for the 2014 Overlay Project to O'Grady Paving, Inc. of <br />Mountain View, California for their responsive and responsible low base bid <br />of $908,770.80; authorize the City Manager to execute the contract and <br />increase the contract amount, if necessary, up to 10% of the amount <br />awarded, not to exceed $999,647.88 and confirm determination that the <br />project is exempt and meets California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) <br />exemption criteria as set forth in Section15301 (Existing Facilities) and <br />Section 15302 (Replacement or Reconstruction) of the CEQA Regulations. <br /> MINUTE ORDER 15-058 <br /> <br /> B.
