Red Morton Community Park Sports Lighting Mitigated Negative Declaration
City of Redwood City 3 June 2015

C. Geology and Soils

Standard Measures: The proposed project will implement the following measures to reduce and avoid
impacts related to soil and geologic conditions:

A qualified professional geologist shall complete a design -level geotechnical investigation for the
proposed project. The specific design features identified in the geotechnical investigation will be
incorporated into the project design.

The project shall be designed and constructed in accordance with the 2013 California Building
Code, which contains regulations that govern the construction of structures in California.
Adherence to the 2013 California Building Code will ensure the proposed improvements resist
minor earthquakes without damage and major earthquakes without collapse.

D. Noise

Standard Measures: The following standards measures would be implemented by the project during
construction to ensure construction noise levels remain at a less than significant level:

Limit construction activities to the hours of 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM on weekdays, with no noise-
generating construction on weekends or holidays if the noise level generated by construction
activities exceeds local ambient noise levels.
Control noise from construction workers’ radios to the point where they are not audible at existing
residences that border the project site.
Equip all internal combustion engine-driven equipment with mufflers that are in good condition and
appropriate for the equipment.
Utilize quiet models of air compressors and other stationary noise sources where technology exi sts.
Locate stationary noise-generating equipment as far as possible from sensitive receptors when
sensitive receptors adjoin or are near a construction project area.
Prohibit unnecessary idling of internal combustion engines.
Notify residents adjacent to the project site of the construction schedule in writing.

8.A. - Page 15
