Disturbance of buried cultural resources during project construction activities could
result in a significant impact.

Impact CUL-1: The project could result in the disturbance of buried cultural resources, should
they be located on the site.

Mitigation and Avoidance Measures:

MM CUL-1: Prior to initiation of construction activities, the project contractor shall
incorporate a note on the first page of the construction plans that should
cultural resources be encountered during site grading or other site work, such
work shall immediately be halted in the area of discovery and the applicant
shall immediately notify the Planning Manager or designee of the discovery.
The contractor shall be required to retain the services of a qualified
archaeologist for the purpose of recording, protecting, or curating the
discovery as appropriate. The archaeologist shall be required to submit a
Cultural Resources Management Plan, per City requirements, to the Planning
Manager or designee for review and approval that outlines the findings and
mitigation methods of curation and/or protection of the resources. No further
grading or site work within the area of discovery shall be allowed until the
preceding has occurred. Disposition of Native American remains shall
comply with CEQA Guidelines Section 15064.5(e). The note on the plans
shall be subject to review and approval of the Planning Services.

4.5.3 Conclusion

With implementation of the mitigation measure described above, the proposed project would not
result in significant impacts to cultural resources.
