The State of California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) <br />Guidelines, Appendix G, are used to assess the potential significance of impacts pursuant to local <br />General Plan policies, Municipal Code standards, or the applicable standards of other agencies. A <br />summary of the applicable regulatory criteria is provided below. <br /> <br />State CEQA Guidelines. The CEQA contains guidelines to evaluate the significance of effects of <br />environmental noise attributable to a proposed project. Under CEQA, noise impacts would be <br />considered significant if the project would result in: <br /> <br />(a) Exposure of persons to or generation of noise levels in excess of standards established in the <br />local General Plan or Noise Ordinance, or applicable standards of other agencies; <br /> <br />(b) Exposure of persons to or generation of excessive groundborne vibration or groundborne <br />noise levels; <br /> <br />(c) A substantial permanent increase in ambient noise levels in the project vicinity above levels <br />existing without the project; <br /> <br />(d) A substantial temporary or periodic increase in ambient noise levels in the project vicinity <br />above levels existing without the project; <br />8.A. - Page 122
