MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST <br /> <br />Councilwoman Steinfeld discussed the bone marrow drives for Adrian Sandoval and <br />Dan Daly from the County Counsel's office. She expressed her thanks to Mike Gibbons, <br />Parks, Recreation and Community Services Supervisor for his assistance at the <br />fundraiser last weekend. <br /> <br />Councilwoman La Berge provided an update on the Year of the Child; a calendar of <br />events for children's activities is available from the County Office of Education, Year of <br />the Child apparel pins are being sold to support the Children's Fund administered by the <br />County of San Mateo, Year of the Child posters are available for agencies and businesses, <br />the San Mateo Times has been a sponsoring the Year of the Child covering children's <br />issues, the City of Redwood City was recognized by the Board of Supervisors during the <br />month of May for its commitment to child care, and there will be an entry in the Redwood <br />City parade to let people know about the priority of children in Redwood City and San <br />Mateo County. <br /> <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <br /> <br />Mayor Gasparini announced that the Council will go back to item #5C. <br /> <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <br /> <br />5.
