WHEREAS, it is the intent of the City Council of Redwood City to provide <br /> economic relief for its employees during this emergency period and any such <br /> future emergencies. <br /> <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE <br /> CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> 1. Any regular or probationary City employee who is called into active <br /> military duty as a member of the California National Guard or a United States <br /> Military Reserve Organization shall receive the following compensation and <br /> benefits: <br /> <br /> a. For the first thirty (30) calendar days of active military service <br /> the employee shall, in addition to any military earnings, receive full wages in <br /> accordance with the compensation schedule for the classification held by such <br /> person. <br /> <br /> b. Beyond the first thirty (30) calendar days of military duty and <br /> for the duration of the employee's military duty, the City shall pay to the <br /> employee the difference between the salary payable pursuant to the employee's <br /> classification and the compensation paid by the military service. <br /> <br /> c. The employee shall receive full benefits in addition to salary <br />including vacation and 5:~ck leave accruals, and health coverage including dental <br />retirement and other benefits consistent with or provided by the appropriate <br />current memorandum of understanding. <br /> 2.
