10/12/2015 <br /> Proposed Classification: <br /> CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br /> PARKING AND TRANSPORTATION DEMAND MANAGER <br /> DEFINITION <br /> Under general direction, manages the City of Redwood City's Parking and Transportation <br /> Demand Management (TDM) Programs. Serves as staff liaison for the Parking Advisory <br /> Committee, which recommends parking policy and operational changes to the City <br /> Council, and serves as the staff liaison to the Downtown Community Benefits <br /> Improvement District on parking and TDM matters. <br /> DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS <br /> The Parking and TDM Manager has broad leadership and management responsibility for <br /> an operational division including garage operations, maintenance, and revenue <br /> collections, coordinating with field enforcement services, and is responsible for program <br /> development and management. This position also develops and monitors the division <br /> budget; and develops operational goals, objectives, and priorities. <br /> SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED <br /> Direct supervision is provided by the Assistant City Manager. General guidance may be <br /> provided by other City department managers and staff, including the Senior <br /> Transportation Coordinator, Economic Development Manager, Community Development <br /> Director, Public Works Director, Public Communication & Engagement Manager, Police <br /> Chief, Finance Director, City Attorney, Parks, Recreation, and Community Services <br /> Director, and Library Director. <br /> Responsibilities include coordinating a team of professional, technical, field, and <br /> enforcement staff, overseeing the work of consultants and contractors, and may include <br /> direct supervision of staff. <br /> EXAMPLES OF IMPORTANT AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES <br /> Essential duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: <br /> Manages the City's downtown parking lots, parking garages, and on-street parking <br /> spaces.
