Noone came forward. <br /> MIS: BUCHAN/SANFILIPO TO CLOSE THE PUBLIC HEARING. <br /> CARRIED BY UNANIMOUS VOICE VOTE AND HEARING CLOSED AT 8:22 P.M. <br />5) Council action; <br /> In response to Mr. Mooney's questions, City Manager Everett and Finance <br /> Director Ponty described the $55,000 revenues greater than expenditures in the <br /> proposed budget, the $4.9 million in reserves and the $460,000 in fund balances. <br /> Councilman Sanfilipo again expressed his displeasure at including $7,604 for a teen <br /> commission at the last minute before it had been discussed by the entire Council, and <br /> also stated that if the Council wanted it, it should be included in the Park and <br /> Recreation Department. <br /> City Manager Everett and Parks, Recreation and Community Services Director <br /> Griffiths described how this objective was included in the Proposed 1995/96 Fiscal <br /> Plan on Page 186, although the funding amount was inadvertently omitted; the <br /> objective was discussed at a previous Council budget session in July; and described <br /> how the School District and YMCA were asked to participate to provide expertise <br /> and defray some of the costs by providing in-kind services. <br /> Councilwoman Buchan advised that the idea for a teen council was described in the <br /> Proposed Fiscal Plan 1995/96 received by all the Council Members and was talked <br /> about at the Council Budget Session. <br /> MIS: BUCHANIHOW ARD TO ADOPT THE ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE <br /> FINAL BUDGET OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY FOR THE FISCAL YEAR <br /> JULY 1, 1995 THROUGH JUNE 30, 1996 <br /> SPEAKING TO THE QUESTION: <br /> Councilwoman Steinfeld voiced her objections to the lack of reductions of <br /> expenditures in the budget and no preparations for the future. <br /> Councilman Sanfilipo asked that the title Teen Commission be changed. <br /> MINUTE BOOK NO. 53 <br /> Regular Meeting Minutes Page No. 293 <br /> August 14, 1995 <br /> Page 5 <br />. - .~.~...........__.....~...._.__....__........ on .-........-.-.....-.---- <br />
