Mayor Gee stated that there may be <br /> department heads from some larger cities that might be well-qualified but have not <br /> served as an Assistant City Manager yet. Council Member Bain clarified that he is <br /> concerned with applicants coming from the private sector since it is very different from <br /> experience in the public sector. <br /> Council Member Pierce agreed that she prefers someone who has city experience. <br /> Vice Mayor Foust stated that she is glad that the brochure was written the way that it <br /> was, nating that Dr. Bell worked 10 years in the private sector prior to entering city <br /> government.
