6.4.A. - Page 1
REPORT
To the Honorable Mayor and City Council
From the City Manager
October 26, 2015
SUBJECT
2nd Reading for Amendments to the LII Zoning District (Article 17A of the Zoning
Ordinance)
RECOMMENDATION
(1) Waive Second Reading and (2) Adopt the Ordinance as Modified by Council at their
September 21 , 2015 Hearing.
BACKGROUND
On September 21, 2015, the City Council introduced an ordinance amending the Zoning
Ordinance. The Council made a minor change to allow Personal Studios to be
considered with a Use Permit if they exceed 2,500 square feet in area per lot. This
change has been incorporated into the revised ordinance (Attachment 1). If adopted,
this ordinance will be effective 30 days from this meeting.
ANALYSIS
The amendments make minor changes to permitted uses in the LII Zoning Code
Amendments. A detailed analysis can be found in the September 21 , 2015 City Council
Staff Report (Attachment 2).
ALTERNATIVES
1. Adopt the ordinance with changes, which could require additional environmental
review.
2. Do not adopt the ordinance.
FISCAL IMPACT
No fiscal impact is expected with this project.
ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
A Negative Declaration was adopted for this project on September 21 , 2015. No further
environmental review is required.
DIANA O'DELL
PRINCIPAL PLANNER
