<br />Mayor Pro Tem Hartnett asked Joe Steinfeld, 850 Main Street, candidate for <br />Council, not to interrupt speakers, and if he needed to talk to please do it outside the <br />Council Chambers. .. <br /> MEMO 9/19/95 <br />In response to Council questions, City Attorney Schricker advised that since the Use <br />Permit was being appealed on grounds of compatibility and staff determined the use <br />was compatible subject to the issuance of a Use Permit, that issue was now before the <br />Council. <br /> MEMO 9/19/95 <br />Pat Kippel, Raychem Project Manager for Chemelex, 300 Constitution Drive, Menlo <br />Park, described how all Raychem parking areas were patrolled 24-hours a day and the <br />new 37 spaces would be included. Ms. Kippel, described how much everyone at <br />Raychem and Chemelex wanted that area improved, and how much the Chemelex <br />people wanted a health club. In answer to Council questions Ms. Kippel advised that <br />Chemelex employees would feel safer with that new development and lighting in that <br />area. <br />MIS: SANFILIPO/STEINFELD TO CONTINUE THE OPEN PUBLIC HEARING AND <br />TO GET DEFINITE WRITTEN AGREEMENTS FROM RA YCHEM REGARDING <br />ADDITIONAL PARKING SPACES <br />AFTER AN EXTENDED DISCUSSION REGARDING INFORMATION RECEIVED <br />LATE, WHETHER THE HEARING SHOULD BE CONTINUED OPEN OR CLOSED, <br />WHAT COUNCIL DATES WERE AVAILABLE, THE MOTION WAS AMENDED BY <br />ORIGINATOR AND SECONDER TO CONTINUE THE OPEN PUBLIC HEARING TO <br />OCTOBER 23, 1995. <br />Councilwoman Howard suggested that delaying a decision to October 23, 1995, was <br />too far out, asked to hear further from Mr. McCall, the applicant, and recommended <br />that the Council vote now but add contingencies. <br />Mayor Pro Tem Hartnett agreed with Councilwoman Howard and suggested that <br />the Council could make a decision tonight and attach conditions to the Variance that <br />would require additional parking spaces, and tell the applicant to figure out how to <br />meet those conditions. <br />Mayor Pro Tem Hartnett gave Joe Steinfeld a second warning to stop interrupting <br />the proceedings. <br /> MEMO 9/19/95 <br />ITERATION OF THE MOTION AS AMENDED <br />MIS: SANFILIPO/STEINFELD TO CONTINUE THE OPEN PUBLIC HEARING TO <br />OCTOBER 23, 1995, AND TO GET DEFINITE WRITTEN AGREEMENTS FROM <br />RA YCHEM REGARDING ADDITIONAL PARKING SPACES <br />MOTION FAILED ON THE FOLLOWING ROLL CALL VOTE: <br /> Regular Meeting Minutes MINUTE BOOK NO. 53 <br /> September 18, 1995 Page No. 329 <br /> Page 8 <br />. - -'-""..... .....-.......... . ...-...-.--- <br />
