ATTY/RESO.3153/CC RESO 2302 HOPKINS HISTORIC LANDMARK <br />REV: 11-04-15 VR <br />Page 1 of 3 <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY DESIGNATING 2302 HOPKINS AVENUE AN <br />HISTORIC LANDMARK <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on July 9, 2015, the Historic Resources Advisory Committee <br />considered and recommended that the single-family structure located at 2302 <br />Hopkins Avenue, Redwood City, California be designated an Historic Landmark; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Historic Resources Advisory Committee has determined <br />that said structure is eligible for designation as an Historic Landmark according <br />to the historic designation criteria established by the Redwood City Historic <br />Preservation Ordinance (Chapter 40 of the Redwood City Code); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on October 20, 2015, the Planning Commission held a duly <br />noticed public hearing and considered public comments, the application and <br />report from the applicant and owner of the subject property, the recommendation <br />of the Historic Resources Advisory Committee, and staff reports; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on October 20, 2015, the Planning Commission voted <br />unanimously (5-0) to recommend that the City Council designate the subject <br />structure an Historic Landmark; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on November 16, 2015, the City Council held a duly noticed <br />public hearing and considered public comments, the application and report from <br />the applicant and owner of the subject property, the recommendation of the <br />Historic Resources Advisory Committee and Planning Commission, and staff <br />reports; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the structure located at 2302 Hopkins Avenue, Redwood <br />City, California does meet the historic designation criteria established by the <br />Redwood City Historic Preservation Ordinance as follows: <br /> <br />It embodies distinctive characteristics of a style, type, period or method of <br />construction, or is a valuable example of the use of indigenous materials <br />or craftsmanship; and <br /> <br />It is representative of the notable work of a builder, designer or architect; <br />and <br /> <br />7.A. - Page 5
