<br />7. MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST <br />A. Councilman Greenalch, Chairman of the Council Water and Sewer Committee, - <br />advised that he and the two other committee members Councilmembers Steinfeld <br />and Sanfilipo, had held two meetings and will meet again in January to <br />discuss reclaimed water. The Committee reviewed the lifeline rate and <br />conservation, and will present recommendations to the Council in time for <br />the FY 1994/95 budget discussions. <br />B. Councilman Greenalch, introduced Sharon Hershiser and her husband. Mrs. <br />Hershiser is a student in Councilman Greenalch's "Critical Thinking" class. <br />C. Councilwoman La Berge, Council representative to the South Bayside Systems <br />Authority, presented the results of an effectiveness audit of SBSA, which <br />reviewed operations, management and technology. Councilwoman La Berge <br />stated SBSA placed in the top 95% of all sewage treatment plants evaluated. <br />The report is in the Council Study for Council review. Councilwoman La <br />Berge also announced that SBSA Manager Jim Bewley was leaving in January to <br />take a position in private industry. <br />D. Mayor Buchan reminded her colleagues that a visiting delegation from Redwood <br />City's sister city, Zhuhai, China, would be arriving on Friday, and a <br />welcoming dinner was planned for Saturday night. <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <br />8.
