<br /> 8. MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST <br /> A. Councilwoman Gasparini distributed flyers and reported on the following subjects: <br /> 1) Pride and Beautification Committee <br /> a) Councilwoman Gasparini described the five components of the City-wide cleanup on, <br /> April 30, 1994: BFI end of the month clean-up; school projects; Neighborhood <br /> Association projects; 2-day hazardous material disposal; and graffiti removal. <br /> b) Councilwoman Gasparini described the graffiti removal volunteer program, the diversion <br /> program, and thanked Sgt. Warner, staff member William Adams and the Kiwanis for <br /> their participation. In answer to Council questions, Councilwoman Gasparini advised <br /> that the U.S. Postal Service has not given permission to paint their mail boxes. <br /> c) Councilwoman Gasparini described the Mayor's Beautification Awards program and <br /> reminded everyone that nominations were due by May 20, 1994. <br /> 2) Councilwoman Gasparini reported on the Health Care Focus Groups Meeting of March 31, <br /> 1994 which focused on the issues and problems facing the Health Care businesses located in <br /> Redwood City and to learn how the City could provide services more responsive to business <br /> needs. Parking was a major issue for the health care providers present. <br /> 3) Councilwoman Gasparini described the activities relating to the Week of the Young Child, <br /> April 17-23, 1994: <br /> a) City-wide recognition, 7 P.M., April 19, 1994, for child care providers at the County <br /> Child Care Center. <br /> b) Day in the Park -- Red Morton Park Picnic, 9:30 to 11:30 AM., April 21, 1994. <br /> 9. CLOSED SESSION <br /> None <br /> 10. ADJOURNMENT <br /> MIS: STEINFELDILA BERGE TO CANCEL THE REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING OF APRIL <br /> 25,1994, ADJOURN TO A SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING AT 7:00 P.M., TUESDAY, APRIL 26, <br /> 1994, IN THE OLD LIBRARY NEXT TO CITY HALL, AND ADJOURN TO A STUDY SESSION <br /> IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING IN THE OLD LIBRARY <br /> FOR A PRESENTATION TO THE COUNCIL BY THE TOP TWO CITY HALL DESIGN <br /> FINALISTS. <br /> CARRIED BY UNANIMOUS VOICE VOTE.
