7. PUBLIC HEARINGS
None
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
8. MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST
A. Report by Councilman Greenalch on the problem of weeds in the median strips along El Camino
Real from Edgewood to Broadway, the 3600 block of Jefferson, and the 4000 to 4200 block of
Farm Hill Blvd., and a request that City staff or the responsible parties clean-up these areas.
Councilman Greenalch expressed his dismay at the weeds he had spotted, and commented upon
General Services Director Ingram's letter regarding the efforts and plans for weed removal from
medians. Councilman GreenaIch stated it was essential to have the entry ways to the City be free
of weeds and wanted this matter to be a higher priority for staff. Councilman Greenalch described
the good efforts of the Pride and Beautification Committee. Councilman Greenalch asked who is
responsible for these medians, and asked staff to establish a regular schedule of maintenance.
MEMO 5/17/94
Councilwoman Gasparini described the City Health Card Program -- a pilot program, that if
successful, will be expanded. It involves staff members from General Services who are out in City
vehicles everyday reporting problems they see. These reported problems are then addressed
immediately.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
9.
