MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST <br /> A The Town of Woodside's affordable housing location and Council's direction to staff <br /> regarding this matter. (Councilman Claire) (301-08) <br /> Councilman Claire discussed the Town of Woodside's affordable housing location <br /> project and its impact on Redwood City. The 5 acre site is located near the Farm Hill <br /> Blvd. intersection and Woodhill Estates. Councilman Claire requested that staff keep <br /> Council up to date on this matter. <br /> MEMO 5/24/94 <br /> B. Proposed housing projects and Redwood Shores/Redwood City's affordable housing goals. <br /> Discussion and clarification. (Councilman Greenalch) (203-04, 201-05) <br /> Councilman Greenalch discussed: the importance of keeping policy decisions made by <br /> Council in the forefront of staff and commissions as they review plans; the Planning <br /> Commission is currently looking at a number of plans; and the increase in building in <br /> Redwood Shores area. Councilman Greenalch asked whether an inclusionary zoning <br /> ordinance or an in lieu fee ordinance is necessary to compel compliance on the part of the <br /> development community. Planning Director Patterson responded affirmatively, if you <br /> wish to get low and very low income units. Councilman Greenalch discussed appropriate <br /> forms of subsidies for low income and policies issues. <br /> After further discussion Council requested that this issue be referred to the Housing and <br /> Human Concern Committee (and Planning Commission) for additional information. <br /> MEMO 5/24/94 <br /> 9.
