PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> A A Public Hearing to consider recommendation of the Planning Commission to adopt <br /> the Franklin Street Area Plan <br /> Affidavits of Notice of Publication and Mailing are on file in the City Clerk Department <br /> 1) Written Staff Report: Redwood City Planning Commission, June 6, 1994 <br /> Leon Pirofalo, LCP Associates, presented the Franklin Street Area Plan as <br /> a conceptual plan, establishing framework and general policy to enable the project <br /> area to be transformed into an attractive and functional residential neighborhood, <br /> incorporating affordable housing units, blending the project area into the downtown <br /> area, coordinating the project with the proposed Jefferson Avenue underpass and <br /> grade separation project, and abandonment or relocation of some existing streets. <br /> In response to Councilwoman La Berge's question about the pedestrian crossing, <br /> Mr. Pirofalo stated that a crosswalk would link the residential area with the Civic <br /> Center. <br /> Councilwoman Gasparini requested further information about meeting notification. <br /> Planning Director Patterson advised that the owners and tenants were notified of <br /> meetings. <br /> 2) Mayor Buchan declared the public hearing open at 8: 17 p.m. and invited anyone who <br /> wished to speak to please do so. <br /> 3) Marilyn Ehinger, Leahy Street, spoke on behalf of John Malloy, property owner at <br /> 1201 Jefferson Avenue and expressed his concerns as a small business owner. <br /> Regular Meeting Minutes <br /> June 6, 1994 . <br /> MJ: NUTE BOOK NO. 52 Page 4 <br /> page No. 270 <br />
