ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
In June 2002, the City as Lead Agency completed an Initial Study for the “Redwood City
Recycled Water Project” in order to comply with the California Environmental Quality
Act (CEQA). The report was prepared by CH2MHILL, a consulting firm from San Jose,
CA. A Mitigated Negative Declaration (MND) was prepared, filed and approved in 2003.
A copy of the report and the MND is available for review at the Community
Development Department, Engineering Division. The construction of this pipe segment
have been reviewed, analyzed and approved in the 2003 MND.

This project does not require a National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System
(NPDES) General Permit for stormwater discharges associated with construction and
land disturbance activities pursuant to Attachment A.2 of Order 2010-0014-DWQ which
exempts projects to update existing lines and facilities. However, the proposed
construction will employ stormwater pollution prevention best methods and practices
(NPDES).

Javier Sierra
Associate Engineer

Saber Sarwary P.E.
City Engineer

Aaron Aknin
Assistant City Manager/Community Development Director

ATTACHMENTS
1.
