Stangel M IN UTE S CITY COUNCIL 401 Marshall Street Redwood City, Ca. 7:30 p.m. March 16, 1992 CALL TO ORDER - 7:30 p.m., Mayor La Berge presiding ROLL CALL Council Members present: Buchan, Bury, Claire, Greenalch, Murray (did not attend the Closed Session), Stangel and Mayor La Berge Council Members absent: None Officials and staff present: Everett, Schricker, Jorgenson and Pawloski, Hildebrand, Taylor, Griffiths, O'Brien, Hartman, Luck, Church, Mitchum, Adams, and a huge contingent of Redwood City Fire Fighters PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE - Councilman Stangel INVOCATION - Major Leslie Brooks Salvation Army ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS A. Mayor La Berge and Vice Mayor Bury, on behalf of the entire Council, paid tribute to Rick Richardson who passed away on March 10th. Mr. Richardson, was a true and longtime Redwood City resident, who gave of his time, efforts and resources to help those in need. His volunteer works are legendary, benefiting the Salvation Army, St. Anthony's Dining Room, the Sequoia YMCA, the Fair Oaks Community Center, and Redwood City Elementary Schools, especially Kennedy School. Mr. Richardson was instrumental in founding Redwood City Cares and earned The Others award and Redwood City Outstanding Citizen of the Year in 1979. Although Mr. Richardson preferred to remain anonymous his good deeds became known, and he could be counted on to help out whenever something extra was needed. He was a great friend to Redwood City, and he will be sorely missed by this Council.
