<br /> Dan Theadde, Sequoia High School <br /> Heidi Gill, McKinley Middle School. <br /> Sue Cortopassi, Sequoia YMCA, 'wofRêd in Chico Recreation Department <br /> Chuck Ashton, Children's Librarian <br /> Edna Acri, Resource Specialist, Redwood City Elementary School District <br /> Kristen Anderson presented a summary of the survey stating it brought to <br /> light areas of concern and suggestions for all kinds of youth services as <br /> well as highlighting the desire for a teen center, a safe place to hang <br /> out with friends and to meet new friends. The survey also showed that the <br /> teens want to plan the teen center themselves with a minimal amount of <br /> adult assistance; teens want more music programs in the City; and they <br /> also believe that other organizations can stage successful teen events, <br /> including their schools, churches, and businesses. <br /> Mayor La Berge thanked the teen members of the Committee and everyone who <br /> worked on the survey for their hard work and insight into the needs and <br /> wishes of Redwood City youth. <br /> M/S: CLAIRE/BUCHAN TO EXPLORE THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A STANDING COMMITTEE, <br /> A YOUTH ADVISORY COMMITTEE, AND TO COME BACK TO COUNCIL IN TWO TO THREE <br /> MONTHS WITH A SOLID RECOMMENDATION. <br /> Councilman Claire advised he wished to serve on the committee to explore <br /> the establishment of a youth advisory committee. <br /> MOTION CARRIED BY UNANIMOUS VOICE VOTE. <br /> MINUTE ORDER NO. 92-052 <br /> --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <br /> ADJOURNMENT <br /> MIS: BUCHANICLAIRE TO ADJOURN THE MEETING - IN MEMORY OF REDWOOD CITY <br /> FIREFIGHTER VICTOR IBSEN AND LIFELONG REDWOOD CITY RESIDENT THOMAS STAFFORD. <br /> MOTION CARRIED BY UNANIMOUS VOICE VOTE AND MEETING ADJOURNED AT 9:22 P.M. <br /> Arlyn C.
