5. SPECIAL ORDER(S) OF THE DAY <br /> A. Recognition of Outgoing City Manager Dr. Robert B. Bell - Jeffrey Gee, <br /> Mayor and City Council Members (Opportunity for Community Leaders <br /> to Address City Council) <br /> Mayor Gee spoke about Dr. Bell's service in Redwood City. He introduced <br /> various community leaders and members of the public who wanted to thank <br /> and appreciate Dr. Bell's leadership. The City Council presented gifts to Dr. <br /> Bell . Aaron Kiesler, spoke on behalf of Congresswoman Speier, addressed <br /> the Council and presented Dr. Bell with a proclamation. Mario Rendon , <br /> speaking on behalf of Assembly Member Kevin Mullin , thanked Dr. Bell and <br /> presented him with a proclamation . Trustee Shelly Masur spoke on behalf of <br /> the Redwood City School District thanking Dr. Bell for his leadership and <br /> presented him with a proclamation . Planning Commissioner Ernie Schmidt <br /> also shared words of thanks and appreciation . The Fire Chief Officer's <br /> Association gave a plaque to Dr. Bell and Chief Skinner thanked him for his <br /> support. Amy Buckmaster, spoke on behalf of the Redwood City San Mateo <br /> County Chamber of Commerce, thanking him for his visionary leadership <br /> and support. Council Members Pierce, Seybert, Bain , and Howard as well <br /> as Vice Chair Foust and Mayor Gee spoke on his qualities as a leader, and <br /> they all expressed gratitude for his many skills and traits. <br /> B. Swearing in of Incoming Boards, Commissions and Committee <br /> Members (Complete Streets Advisory Committee) - Silvia <br /> Vonderlinden , City Clerk <br /> City Clerk Vonderlinden swore in the new Complete Streets Advisory <br /> Committee members: Michael Jacoubowsky, Marc Manuel , Rebecca <br /> Ratcliff, Matthew Self, and Juda R. Tolmasoff. <br /> 6. PUBLIC COMMENT <br /> Victoria Klein, co-chair for Sequoia Village, spoke about Sequoia Village and how it is a <br /> 501 .3c non-profit organization serving aging members of the community. Sequoia <br /> Village helps people maintain independent living with the help of a host of volunteers <br /> and donations, by providing transportation , home repairs, visits and calls, and other <br /> services. She invited the community to the upcoming ribbon cutting event. <br /> Cheryl Monroe spoke about the hard work she has seen from City staff, in particular the <br /> Parks and Recreation Staff who are always professional and diligent. <br /> 7.
