Councilman Murray advised that the appearance is that of a special tax even though Director Ramchandani described it as more of an accounting procedure. In response to Councilman Murray's questions, City Manager Everett advised that the construction of parks in Redwood Shores is paid from GID funds, but maintenance would come from the general fund. Councilman Murray suggested that the $267,000 for Shannon Park could be found in this year's budget. City Manager Everett and Mayor La Berge described the recommendation to form a committee of three Council members, three Park and Recreation Commission members and members of the neighborhood groups to review this situation. Council Members Murray, Buchan and Bury volunteered to serve on the committee which will meet on July 21 at 7:00 p.m. at the playground site located adjacent to Davit Lane and Shannon Way.
