Public Art Oral Update, specifically "Harambee" project <br /> Chris Beth, Director of Parks, Recreation and Community Services presented an update <br /> regarding public art in Redwood City and explained the formation of the Parks and Arts <br /> Foundation. He also shared details about this particular art project. (Presentation on <br /> file) <br /> MINUTE ORDER 15-164 <br /> 8. PUBLIC HEARING(S) <br /> A. Award of Contract - Red Morton Park Synthetic Turf and Tennis Court <br /> Renovation Project (304) <br /> Chris Beth, Director of Parks, Recreation and Community Services gave a brief <br /> presentation regarding the proposed Red Morton Park renovation project. (Presentation <br /> on file) <br /> Mayor Gee opened the public hearing. <br /> Eric Gee said he was an active parks user throughout Redwood City through his <br /> participation in local sports organizations and was in support of the proposed <br /> renovations at Red Morton Park. <br /> Irene Hewitt requested that the noise levels at the city parks be addressed during the <br /> renovation project. <br /> M/S Aguirre/Seybert to close the public hearing. The motion carried unanimously by <br /> voice vote with Council Member Pierce absent. <br /> Recommendation <br /> 1. Adopting the Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration for the sports lighting <br /> part of the Red Morton Park Synthetic Turf and Tennis Court Renovation Project and <br /> finding that the non-sports-lighting part of the Red Morton Park Synthetic Turf and <br /> Tennis Court Renovation Project is categorically exempt under the California <br /> Environmental Quality Act, and <br /> 2. Authorizing the City Manager to execute the contract documents and award the <br /> standard form contract 00520 for the Red Morton Park Synthetic Turf and Tennis Court <br /> Renovation Project to O.C.
