6.3.C. - Page 4 ATTACHMENT1 <br /> RESOLUTION NO. <br /> RESOLUTION APPROVING AN APPROPRIATION AMENDMENT OF <br /> $86,500 FROM THE PARKING DISTRICT FUND FOR THE PURPOSE <br /> OF PROVIDING FUNDING FOR THE PUBLIC USE OF THE COUNTY OF <br /> SAN MATEO'S PARKING GARAGE AND PARKING LOT <br /> WHEREAS, the County of San Mateo maintains a Downtown parking structure <br /> generally located at Middlefield Road and Veterans Boulevard in Redwood City for use <br /> by the County of San Mateo, and an at grade parking lot located behind the parking <br /> structure; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City identified that there was an additional need for parking in the <br /> downtown area and reached out to the County to take advantage of the County's existing <br /> parking infrastructure; and <br /> WHEREAS, in 2003 the City of Redwood City entered into a cooperative <br /> agreement with the County for the County to make portions of the parking structure and <br /> the parking lot available to the City for public use on 50 weeknights and during all <br /> weekends throughout the year; and <br /> WHEREAS, in 2007 the City and the County amended the agreement to increase <br /> the number of nights the parking structure and parking lot would be available to the City <br /> for public use from 50 weeknights to all weeknights year round, adding a total of 797 <br /> parking spaces to the City's nighttime parking supply; and <br /> WHEREAS, in 2009 the City and the County amended the agreement to make <br /> three City on-street parking stalls on Bradford Street available to the County to facilitate <br /> efficient administration of and execution of public safety duties by the Office of the Sheriff; <br /> and <br /> ATTY/RES0.0035/CC RESO COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT PARKING <br /> REV:04-29-16 VR <br /> Page 1 of 2 <br />
