9.A - Page 8 <br /> SCH: <br /> Proposed Negative Declaration <br /> Pursuant to: Division 13, Public Resources Code <br /> Project Description <br /> The California Department of Transportation(Department),in conjunction with the City of Redwood <br /> City and the San Mateo County Transportation Authority(SMCTA),proposes to improve the United <br /> States Highway 101 (US 101)/State Route(SR) 84 (Woodside Road)interchange in the City of <br /> Redwood City, County of San Mateo. The project would widen and add lanes to SR 84(hereafter <br /> simply Woodside Road),reconstruct all ramp connections to US 101,and construct direct-connect <br /> flyover ramps between US 101 and Veterans Boulevard. The project would also construct additional <br /> pedestrian and bicycle facilities throughout the project area and improve the intersections of Woodside <br /> Road with Veterans Boulevard,Broadway, and Bay Road to the south of US 101, and Seaport <br /> Boulevard/East Bayshore Road/Blomquist Road to the north of US 101. The project extends for 1.9 <br /> miles along US 101 and 0.4 mile along SR 84. The total project length is 2.3 miles. <br /> Determination a,aaasa, <br /> This proposed Negative Declaration(ND) is included to give notice to interested agencies and the <br /> public that it is the Department's intent to adopt an ND for this project. This does not mean that the <br /> Department's decision regarding the project is final. This ND is subject to change based on comments <br /> received by interested agencies and the public. <br /> The Department has prepared an Initial Study(IS) for this project, and pending public review,expects to <br /> determine from this study that the proposed project would not have a significant effect on the <br /> environment for the following reasons: 46661b. -aaa ',61M66660 <br /> The proposed project would have no effect on cultural resources, land use and planning,population and <br /> housing,public services and recreation.
