PROPOSED <br /> Lead Police Clerk <br /> ' Page two <br /> • <br /> typing , logging , indexing and checking for completness and accuracy ; <br /> assists in processing , searching and transporting prisoners and juve- <br /> niles as required ; acts as communication dispatcher as required . <br /> REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE , SKILLS AND ABILITIES <br /> Good clerical knowledge of the practices , policies and procedures of <br /> a law enforcement agency ; good knowledge of office terminology , pro- <br /> cedures , equipment and English usage , spelling , grammar and punctuation ; <br /> ability to understand and follow complex oral and written directions ; <br /> ability to maintain complex clerical records and prepare reports from <br /> such records ; ability to make decisions in accordance with laws , or-. <br /> dinances , regulations and established policies ; ability to type from <br /> clear copy or rough draft at a net rate of_ `:50 words per minute ; ability <br /> to lead the work of clerical employees ; ability to train clerical em- <br /> ployees in the practices , procedures and policies of the Police Depart- <br /> ment ; ability to establish and maintain good public relations and <br /> cooperative working relationships with other employees ; good physical <br /> condition . <br /> EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING <br /> Three years of clerical experience in a law enforcement agency and <br /> completion of the twelfth grade with additional business training <br /> highly desirable ; or any equivalent combination of experience and <br /> training which provides the required knowledge , skills and abilities . <br />
