5. Approval Letter & Conditions in Building Permit Plans - This Notice of Official <br /> Action, with the accompanying conditions of approval, shall be printed on the first <br /> page of the building permit plans. [COA][PLANNING] <br /> 6. Use Operations - The project approval is for a public charter high school use and <br /> shall comply with the following operational characteristics. Changes to these <br /> require review and approval by the City. [COA][PLANNING] <br /> a. Enrollment— maximum number of students is 550 <br /> b. Faculty and Staff— maximum number of faculty and staff is 30 <br /> c. Grades— use permit is for grades 9— 12 <br /> d. School Hours — regular school hours will be approximately 8:00 am to <br /> 4:00 pm with student drop-offs starting at 7:30 am. After school programs <br /> may occur after the closing of regular school hours. <br /> e. Admission — students who reside within the Sequoia Union High School <br /> District boundaries shall receive a 4:1 preference and those within the <br /> San Mateo Union High School District boundaries shall receive a 5:1 <br /> preference for Student Enrollment Lotteries, as reflected in the charter <br /> school regulations /petition (pg. 86) and as stipulated by Education Code <br /> Section 47605(d)(2)(B). <br /> f. No-Driving Requirement — no students are allowed to drive to school <br /> and must be dropped-off, ride their bicycle, or utilize public transit. <br /> Exception to this rule shall be made to a maximum of 10 students who <br /> participate in internship programs. The no-driving requirement shall <br /> remain in effect for the life of the project. Failure to enforce this <br /> requirement may result in revocation of the land use permit. <br /> 1. Submit an administrative plan detailing how the school staff will <br /> monitor compliance and enforce violations of the no-driving <br /> requirement and ensure that students, staff, and parents do not <br /> park outside of its campus, in the Oracle campus parking, public <br /> Bay Trail spaces, or other private property. <br /> 7. Community Benefits — As proposed by the applicant, the following Community <br /> Benefits shall be provided for the life of the Project: <br /> a. Four design thinking workshops per year with Redwood Shores <br /> elementary and middle school students <br /> b. An annual Maker Day at the school's design laboratory for Redwood <br /> Shores students <br /> c. Four student projects per year focused on the needs of the Redwood <br /> Shores community using the design thinking principles <br /> Parking <br /> 8. Drop-off Spaces — During morning drop-off and afternoon pickup, no parking is <br /> allowed in drop-off spaces and the driver must remain in vehicle. Curbs at the <br /> drop-off spaces shall be painted white and be signed as such (see example <br /> signage below). Spaces maybe used for visitor parking during the middle of the <br /> school day and by the public during evenings and weekends.
