She stated that she is in full support of this <br /> project. <br /> Council Member Bain stated that the parking conversation does need to occur right <br /> now, but he'd like to hear more about the meters and that timeline. He stated that <br /> parking is about the location and time of day. He stated that he is in support of this <br /> project, largely because the height is appropriate, it will be solving a critical parking <br /> problem, and because the developer has listened to the community. <br /> Mayor Gee spoke about how CalTrain is working to increase capacity. He stated that <br /> the bulk of transportation is North/South and most communities on the peninsula need <br /> to work towards bettering transportation on the east-west route. He noted that the <br /> drive-alone rate on the peninsula is dropping rapidly. He stated that it is expensive to <br /> acquire land and build a parking garage, so the City will need to look to partner with <br /> someone. <br /> Recommendation: <br /> 1. Adopt Resolution approving a Downtown Planned Community Permit, Tentative Parcel <br /> Map and Parking In-Lieu Fee Application for the development a 5-story mixed-use office <br /> and retail building and two levels of underground parking at 815 Hamilton Street, based <br /> on the findings and subject to the conditions of approval listed therein, and upon w� <br /> consideration of the Initial Study Checklist demonstrating compliance with the Downtown � <br /> �, <br /> Precise Plan Environmental Impact Report (EIR) as certified on January 24, 2011; and � <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 15431 OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br /> APPROVING A TENTATIVE PARCEL MAP, DOWNTOWN PLANNED COMMUNITY PERMIT, <br /> AND PARKING IN-LIEU FEE FOR 815 HAMILTON STREET, 2215 BROADWAY, AND 840 <br /> MIDDLEFIELD ROAD <br /> M/S Aguirre/Pierce to approve the resolution. Motion carried unanimously by <br /> electronic vote. <br /> 2.
