6. MSM interface <br /> a. The MSM shall have a mechanism for inputting information (e.g., buttons, keypad). <br /> IPS complies. The MS1 is available in three different models: Pay and Display, Pay-by-Space, and Pay-by- <br /> Plate. The MS 1 Pay-by-Plate station is equipped with a forty-two (42) button alphanumeric keypad, used to <br /> enter the license plate number. The MS 1 Pay-by-Space pay station has a twelve ( 12) button numeric keypad. <br /> The MS1 pay station keypads use mechanical buttons rated at more than 200,000 cycles, which translates into <br /> more than 10 years of use. <br /> b. The MSM shall have a mechanism that provides prompting and confirmation to the Customer as <br /> he/she conducts a payment at the MSM. <br /> IPS complies. Instructions and customer prompts will be featured on the meter display to guide the customer <br /> through the payment process. <br /> c. Proposal Deliverables - MSM interface <br /> i. The Proposer shall describe all inputs on the MSM; i.e., if the MSM uses buttons, describe the type <br /> (e.g., mechanical or touch), the quantity, all functions, and any permanent labels. If buttons have <br /> different functions in different modes or at different times, the Proposer shall describe all possible <br /> functions. <br /> IPS complies. The Proposer shall describe how the MSM demonstrates to the Customer how the transaction is <br /> progressing and confirms if a payment has been successful. <br /> Prompt: The screens prior to payment are used to display any amount of information regarding rates, hours <br /> of operation, date and time, and instructions to initiate payment. <br /> Coin: As a user inserts coins, accumulated time and $$ inserted will be displayed. Once a user has inserted <br /> all of the coins desired, the meter will display the total amount of time and $$ inserted. It will then wait a <br /> pre-determined (and configurable) amount of time (a timeout) and then display the amount of time purchased. <br /> Credit Card: A user inserts a card and the meter prompts the user to remove the card to initiate the payment <br /> process. If the card is invalid (such as an expired card), the display will inform the customer immediately.
