Downtown Precise Plan Amendment for Affordable Housing <br /> Diana O'Dell, Principal Planner, gave a presentation on this item <br /> (Presentation on file). This amendment is a proposal to reserve 15% of <br /> new housing for affordable housing. She stated that market-rate housing <br /> can move more quickly than affordable projects, and this amendment would <br /> give those projects the time they need. She stated that approximately 1500 <br /> units have been approved with 400 in the pipeline, and the amendment <br /> would reserve 375 affordable units. She spoke about current low income <br /> units in the pipeline and why Staff chose the 15% number. The Staff <br /> recommendation is to adopt the resolution recommending that 15% of the <br /> 2500 units in the Downtown Precise Plan be reserved for units affordable to <br /> households making 80% of area median income or below. <br /> Page 1 of 9 <br />
