EXHIBIT "A" <br /> SCOPE OF SERVICES <br /> Each party's obligations necessary for successful completion of the Research Program are <br /> defined below. In this scope, the term device shall mean smart irrigation water controller. The <br /> total number of devices implemented as part of this Research Program shall not exceed 600. <br /> CITY'S OBLIGATIONS <br /> 1. City to provide Stanford with baseline data with user ID (non PII) and e-mail prior to any <br /> marketing or installations. <br /> 2. City to create a new icon and link about the smart water controller on its water <br /> conservation programs page <br /> a. Stanford can create the text if needed <br /> b. This link will forward users to the manufacturer's micro-site <br /> 3. City to offer classes on installation (optional). <br /> 4. City to send email and postcard to treatment groups informing them of the rebate <br /> program's offering. <br /> 5. City to provide monthly water consumption download of all users in the experimental <br /> and control group and hourly use data wherever available for a time period of at least 12 <br /> months following the last installation and potentially up to 24 months. <br /> STANFORD'S OBLIGATIONS <br /> 1. Randomize the opt-in City customers into the treatment groups and hand that list over to <br /> manufacturer to then handle the sales of the smart controllers. <br /> 2. Handle all procurement and installation for research project. <br /> 3. Provide a monthly report with two tables: <br /> i. Device installation rate by treatment group <br /> ii. Water usage by treatment group <br /> 4. Interface with manufacturer on setting up a micro-site to enable the rebate program for <br /> City residents. Website to have an opt-in button for residents interested in participating. <br /> 5. Oversee manufacturer's process for purchase and installation for the field study in City. <br /> 6. Have manufacturer provide link on micro-site to installation videos. <br /> 7. Following completion of the research program, provide to City a report detailing: <br /> i. Water use statistics including realized and potential water savings resulting from the <br /> installation and use of residential smart irrigation controllers. <br /> ii.
