Attachment 3 <br /> 6.3.C. - Page 6 <br /> PEN SLR. <br /> Ii f ff /I <br /> lir_ <br /> 1 CIS 0 <br /> 463 Brewster Street <br /> Suite 4 <br /> Redwood City, Ca. 94063 <br /> 2016 July 4th Independence Day Celebration <br /> Event Summary <br /> The Peninsula Celebration Association(PCA)is requesting a special events permit to conduct the 78th <br /> annual Independence Day Celebration in Redwood City on July 4,2016. The activities to be conducted by <br /> the PCA will be: <br /> • The Invitational Parade starting at 10:00 am. <br /> • The Arts & Crafts Festival from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. <br /> The following activities will be conducted by other organizations: <br /> • The annual Fun Run sponsored by the Redwood City Parks,Recreation and Community Service <br /> Department will be organized and coordinated by the Redwood City Education Foundation(RCEF) <br /> and will utilize the parade route. The RCEF participation will include a post race expo to be held on <br /> Warren between Marshall and Fuller. The expo will provide a"cool down" area for runners and <br /> space for race sponsor information booths. The PCA will request portable toilets be placed toilets <br /> in parking spaces on Warren and Bradford for use by the runners. RCEF will reimburse the PCA <br /> for the cost of the additional toilets. The PCA will also request appropriate no parking signs and <br /> street closures barricades for the post race expo. <br /> As done in previous years, other groups conducting activities as part of the special events permit will sign a <br /> Memorandum of Understanding(MOU)that outlines the specific areas of their responsibility and liabilities <br /> and include the PCA as an additional insured. <br /> Event Details <br /> The Invitational Parade <br /> The annual Independence Day parade is produced for entertainment purposes and may include decorated <br /> floats,marching bands, drill teams, vintage and/or municipal vehicles, equestrian units, civic officials, <br /> invited guests,participating sponsors, and other entries as approved by the PCA. As the parade organizers, <br /> the PCA may, at their discretion, limit the types and number of entries in some parade categories. <br /> • Parade Route: starting at Winslow and Marshall proceeding east to Main,turning right onto <br /> Main proceeding to Middlefield,turning right onto Middlefield proceeding to Winslow,proceeding <br /> on Winslow to Broadway,turning left on Broadway proceeding to Arguello,proceeding on <br /> Arguello and terminating at Alden Street. <br /> Revised 03/30/2016 Page 1 of 6 <br />
