6.3.A. - Page 4 <br /> RESOLUTION NO. <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br /> CITY RESCINDING RESOLUTION 14863 AND ADOPTING THE <br /> RECYCLED WATER SERVICE AREA MAP IN CONNECTION WITH THE <br /> CITY'S ORDINANCE REGARDING RECYCLED WATER USE <br /> WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 14544, the City adopted a mitigated negative <br /> declaration for the Redwood City Recycled Water Project ("Project"), which consists of <br /> infrastructure facilities (transmission and distribution pipelines, pump stations, storage <br /> reservoirs and minor appurtenant facilities) to deliver disinfected tertiary treated recycled <br /> water from the Silicon Valley Clean Water wastewater treatment plant to customers in the <br /> Redwood Shores, Greater Bayfront and Central Redwood City area, as well as other <br /> potential customers inside and outside of the City; and <br /> WHEREAS, on August 11, 2003, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 14547, <br /> approving the Recycled Water Project to provide recycled water to customers in the <br /> Recycled Water Service Area for non-potable uses approved by the State; and <br /> WHEREAS, on July 7, 2008, the City Council adopted the "Recycled Water Use" <br /> ordinance, codified in Chapter 38, Article VIII, prescribing the uses of recycled water in <br /> the City; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Recycled Water ordinance defines the "Recycled Water Service <br /> Area" as the precise geographical area designated by the City as adopted by resolution <br /> of the City Council to which the City will provide recycled water service where it has been <br /> determined to be or is expected to be available; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 14863 on May 12, 2008, <br /> delineating the precise geographical area designated by the City as the Recycled Water <br /> Service Area Map, which was incorporated by reference to the Resolution; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Recycled Water Ordinance allows the City to update the Recycled <br /> Water Service Area by Resolution; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City now desires to expand the Recycled Water Service Area <br /> adopted in 2008 to include additional service areas in the City not currently covered by <br /> the Recycled Water Service Area (as reflected in attached Exhibit A - "Recycled Water <br /> Service Area"); and <br /> WHEREAS, the expansion of the Recycled Water Service Area was contemplated <br /> in the Final Environmental Impact Report for the Stanford in Redwood City Precise Plan, <br /> dated May 3, 2013 ("Stanford in Redwood City EIR"); and <br /> ATTY/RES0.0051/CC RESO RECYCLED WATER SERVICE <br /> REV:06-07-16 FF <br /> Page 1 of 2 <br />
