MINUTE ORDER <br />JOINT CITY COUNCIL / SUCCESSOR AGENCY BOARD <br />PUBLIC FINANCING AUTHORITY MEETING <br />June 13. 2016 <br />MO. 16-110 <br />CITY CLERK DEPARTMENT <br />Redwood City <br />Date: June 15, 2016 <br />Attention: City Attorney <br />PRCS Director <br />**hard copy available upon request** <br />SUBJECT: Public Art Fund and Provision of Public Art by Private Developers <br />AGENDA ITEM: 7.1) (301) <br />Meeting of the Joint City Council/Successor Agency Board/Public Financing Authority of Redwood City on June <br />13, 2016. <br />Present: Council Members, Aguirre, Borgens, Gee, Howard, Masur, Vice Mayor Bain and Mayor <br />Seybert. <br />M/S Gee/Howard to hold a Public Hearing, Waive First Reading and Introduce an Ordinance adding <br />Section 2.38 to the Redwood City Code to establish the "Art in Public Places Fund" and adding <br />Chapter 45 of the Redwood City Code to (1) establish regulations and procedures for provision of Art <br />in Public Places; (2) establish a City contribution of one percent of the City's Annual Outlay Fund to <br />be placed in the Art in Public Places Fund for provision of Art in Public Places; and (3) require <br />Commercial Development projects over 50,000 square feet to contribute on-site art that is equal in <br />value to at least one percent of the project's construction valuation or, alternatively, pay an equivalent <br />in -lieu fee, which will be deposited in the Art in Public Places Fund. Staff will clarify requested details <br />at the second reading via the staff report. <br />M/S Aguirre/Masur to close the public hearing.
