ALTERNATIVES <br />The City Charter requires that the Council adopt a budget by resolution. Not adopting a <br />budget would place the City out of compliance with the City Charter. City Council may <br />direct staff to adjust the Recommended FY 2016-17 Budget, if changes are desired. <br /> <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />Adopting the FY 2016-17 budget will provide authority for staff to continue municipal <br />operations, including the development and construction of capital projects this coming <br />fiscal year. The FY 2016-17 recommended budget would result in a general fund <br />expenditure budget of $111,728,844 million which is an increase of 9.26% over the <br />2015-16 adopted budget.
